This is the first of what I plan to be a regular feature to cover the two days of the weekend.
I’d like to use it to share some of the things that uplift me as a balance to some of the heavier, more serious topics I tackle from time to time. So I’m planning to present videos, songs, articles, poems, writing etc.. Basically anything that lifts my spirits and contributes in some way to peace and compassion on the planet.
Dance around the world -- ‘Where the hell is Matt?’
For the first I’ve chosen a video you may well have seen already as it’s a very popular one.
I make no apologies if you have seen it -- just watch it again and again and again.
If it fails to raise your spirits even a little, then I imagine you have real problems in your life!
If you’re interested in the music, it’s called ‘Praan’ by Palbasha Siddique.
More Dancing
Dance, Dance and Oh Yes … Dance!! -- great article from Nadia at Happy Lotus.
Not quite ready for dancing yet? Try Bounce! by Lance at Jungle Of Life.
And finally … as Hayden at Through The Illusion says, Life’s Too Short To Watch Other People Dance.

Oh Ian…that was wonderful. Actually, I found it quite emotional. The simple happiness and international language of dance does much for social understanding and acceptance. Loved this. Mxxx
I have seen this video before but it is GREAT. I love it! Good clean awesome fun.
Thanks for this, it’s a great way to end the week. Have a lovely weekend Ian!
Hi Ian,
What a great video! I heard about it sometime ago but never was able to watch it. I love it!
Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us and thank you for mentioning one of my posts.
Have a wonderful weekend!
@Megan The video fills me with hope! The joy and connection with people from so many cultures – we all want to have fun and join in wherever we are, no matter what colour, nationality or economic condition.
@Sherri Thanks Sherri. I’m not surprised you saw it already. It has something like 20million hits on YouTube – quite rightly as it is a truly great film.
@Nadia You’re very welcome Nadia. It was a post worthy of mentioning! lol
Love the video, Ian. I thought I saw it as part of Pepsi commercial or something, though I can’t be sure right now. The light-heartedness of your blog is refreshing!
Ian,
I hadn’t seen the video and it brought a big smile to my face! Thanks for a great blog and have a beautiful weekend.
Well, Ian… you picked a GREAT video to start your series with. I’ve had Matt’s website as one of my favorites for a while because, like Greg Mortenson (of Three Cups of Tea), he reminds me that ordinary people can do extraordinary things. I love this video for showing us that the world’s a small place and we really could all get along, if we just tried.
Thank you for starting my weekend off on such a happy note!
Love something upbeat.
Thank you
Juliet
So great, so uplifting. Thank you, Ian.
I had heard about this video from a fellow RN at work. She went to a wedding on Quadra Island (just off where I live) and they did a video of Where the Hell is Matt but without the Matt. Twas funny. And yes, this was emotional for me, too.
I shall continue where I left off earlier today, tunes cranked, dancing in my kitchen with the dog watching, to Led Zeppelin.
This definitely made my day. Thanks for sharing something awesome!

I had never seen that, thanks Ian! Dancing is a very human thing to do.
Haha! Love that video! Have you seen the other vid that is making its rounds? Christian the lion. I found it this morning and have been in love with it ever since.
I’m so glad you mentioned who did the song, I simply LOVE the music (as well as the video).

Thank you all for the comments.
I’ve been out doing other stuff for the last few days with limited access to time and internet and I’m sad I haven’t been in a position to reply to all of you and that it’s taken so long.
I want to say that I so much enjoy reading all your reactions! Love to all of you!
Hi Ian,
I love this video – it’s great, the pure joy that comes from this silly dance! I have seen it before, although it’s been a while – so seeing it again is very good for my soul!
Lance – I’ve watched it a few times now and it just fills me with so much hope and warmth.
