This was written in 1996 by the British poet and seems to me that it’s just as relevant today as it was 13 years ago. I found it in one of my lighter (!) books for summer reading ‘Mind Readings: Writers’ Journeys Through Mental States’.
For those in the Northern hemisphere, I hope you are enjoying your summer.
I’m getting back to the blog after some break … check back in a couple of days for resumption of normal service!

WOW! I love that. It’s great!
Ian, that’sa brilliant find. Thanks for sharing this.
Dani, Steven – I’m happy you liked this as much as I did!
Welcome back to the blogosphere! We missed you, Ian! I’m so glad that you’ll be posting again regularly soon. I hope you’ve had a wonderful Summer, my friend!
Ian –
That is such a cool passage.
I have been wondering where you were. Then I remembered your trip to Romania. I have to check out your other site.
Looking forward to your posts.
@Jay Thanks for the welcome back my friend.
@Bunny I wonder that too sometimes! I’m travelling pretty much every week and often have to check where I am! Love the picture! Is it you?
Welcome back, Ian.
It is great having you around again. I hope your break was awesome and you’re looking forward to getting back to it.
